چکیده
Medium effects in K + nucleus interaction from consistent analysis of integral and differential cross sections Abstract Self consistency in the analysis of transmission measurements for K + on several nuclei in the momentum range of 500-700 MeV/c is achieved with a 't ef f (ρ)ρ' potential and new results are derived for total cross sections. The imaginary part of the t ef f amplitude is found to increase linearly with the average nuclear density in excess of a threshold value of 0.088±0.004 fm −3. This phenomenological density dependence of the K + nucleus optical potential also gives rise to good agreement with recent measurements of differential cross sections for elastic scattering of 715 MeV/c K + by 6 Li and C. KEYWORDS: K + nucleus total and reaction cross sections 500-700 MeV/c on 6 Li, C, Si, Ca. Self consistent analysis. Medium effects.

I show that there are eight new physics operators that contribute to top pair production and subsequent decay in interference with the leading SM process at the Tevatron and estimate their expected statistical inaccuracies. All fully differential cross sections are calculated in the 6-particle phase space. The observation of angular correlations dramatically improves the accuracy of the extract...

At very high energies, the bremsstrahlung and pair production cross sections exhibit complex behavior due to the material in which the interactions occur. The cross sections in dense media can be dramatically different than for isolated atoms. This writeup discusses these in-medium effects, emphasizing how the cross section has different energy and target density dependencies in different regim...

We study the weak production of ∆ (i.e. e − + p → ∆ 0 + ν e and e + + p → ∆ ++ + ¯ ν e) in the intermediate energy range corresponding to the Mainz and TJNAF electron accelerators. The differential cross sections σ(θ) are found to be of the order of 10 −39 cm 2 /sr, over a range of angles which increases with energy. The possibility of observing these reactions with the high luminosities availa...

Level density and level density parameter in medium heavy nuclei including thermal and quantal fluctuation effects Abstract In a realistic application of the SPA + RPA theory for calculation of the nuclear level densities we find that quantal fluctuation corrections (RPA) are important even up to temperature T = 2.0 M eV. This leads to a good agreement between calculated numbers and the availab...
